Grown Woman

I’ve grown so much
built up my walls
cut down my strings

carried my feet across
finish line after finish line
knelt down
ran forward,
fell

I’ve had victories
and I’ve had failures
fortunes
and losses
but the reality is

when I stopped building
and rested

that’s when everything got built
